It’s raining custom glocks with RMR’s?!

Hey guys, what am I missing here? Seems there has been 5 or 6 black box customs glocks with RMR on the EE in the last week. Tempted to grab one, but wondering if there’s a new product or change approaching behind the sales? They are beauties.

I own a Black Box Customs G21/20 with RMR. Having said that the Black Box Customs work is excellent! The RDS mounted to your pistol seems like a good idea but once you have one it's not all its cracked up to be in my opinion. Holster choices are poor. Perhaps this is why we see the sales. Cant be because of Black Box Customs....first rate work and they treat you well. I hear Glock Generation 5 is due to be released soon which might play into the sales.

I too was tempted. I'm not normally a Glock guy, but couldn't say no for the price! :)

I'm gonna take a stab at this.

Over the last few years, I've noticed a huge increase in what I've called the "social media operators".
Essentially, you've got a guy who wants to buy all the top dollar, cool guy stuff so on his instagram page he looks like a boss, and he was always under the assumption that if he spent 3k on a Glock, he would be able to run the gun like a boss but as we all know that's just not the case. So now, 23k in debt, and a horrible shot, Johnny here is now resorting to selling off all of his tough guy crap so he can pay back the collections agency that is now knocking on his door, and he can't bare to sell his jacked up diesel pick up or his white Oakley sunglasses because those are his self proclaimed "money makers".

Or something along those lines.....

I would argue its probably a little of all of the above. lots contributing factors: they are and continue to be insanely popular, cheap (at one point, and getting there again), holster and accessories are plentiful but compatibility becomes an issue once modified, a newer generation of both the glock and RMR have both dropped recently which could mean people are trying to upgrade before the value starts to fall to much (the new RMR V2 is advertised as far more reliable...), potential new gun control might have people trying to minimize financial exposure (selling your custom glock and buying a stripped frame as an insurance policy for grandfathering but if its confiscated they loose a lot less money), could be people in financial strife, could be the same reason we all seem to have a glock 22 now, that the firearms market has been loosing tons of money since the election of trump, the industry as a whole had stocked up and planned for a Hilldog win to boost sales, and up until the Las Vegas fluctuation its been causing the first drop in firearms values in years... or it could just be like the FOXALPHA said Social media D**chebags buying things for photos and then selling them off immediately... we do have at least one I know of on the EE right now...

personally I like the custom work for the ascetic, and added forward and top serrations for function.. but i find cutting windows in the slides makes me cringe a little.. and while I've looked at work from Black Box custom its not cheap and since custom slides are all the rage right now you could probably get something you like better for similar if not less money. just to name a few that have caught my eye the Zev technologies Hex slide, the V2 grey ghost precision glock 17 slide from areo precision, salient arms international utility, and the Loki tactical Neo cut slide.

In today's society, where folks are taught to look for a technology solution to every problem, I suspect this is probably the majority issue. Folks who don't get that they're trying to find a hardware solution to a software problem, and get disillusioned by the result.
