It has been decided

If stupid rules like this are what drives our international body I have no interest in participating beyond shooting. Locally I still want to RO and such, but this kind of stupidity just annoys me. Maybe once there are some positive changes I'll change my mind, but I don't see this as a positive change at all.

well gee Sean, it means now i am going to have to RO in bare feet to be able to count to 15!
IROA will now be issuing you an abacus as you land at the match.

Not that it matters at all here in Canada, but give it a chance to see how it goes. There was plenty of controversy around the introduction of Production; turned out to be a good idea. The only difference was that there were no internet forums in 1999. ;)

How about one of those little counters like the doorman at the bar has and if it goes over......
Nah, I can see a whole new section on calibrating little counter thingys and which ones will be endorsed:eek:

Would such device make a production gun open? :D

Next, They (Mr Vince Pinto) should do is adopt USPSA Production division rules where actually modifications are allowed (springs, guide rods).
Production is in my eyes a 'little' Standard division with DA pull in some cases.
Only thing I don't like in USPSA Prod is luck of minimum trigger pull, there should be one, first for safety, second for distinguishing between Standard and Production.
And of course no magwell :)

I agree. I have always thought that if it is a mod "any idiot" can do without a gunsmith, it should be allowed in production. For example, I have never seen the logic of banning the hogue grips with the wrap around front. Any aftermarket grip that you can change with a screw driver should be permitted.

On the other hand, we added production in the first place to reign in the "arms race" and make it more accessible to new (and/or poor) shooters, so a lone has to be drawn somewhere. The problem is deciding where.

As of January 1st 2010 15 rounds in PD in IPSC. And you can do whatever you want to to your mags now. Super long tubes, weights, paint, different followers, springs, whatever you want. 33 round mags in a G19 so long as you don't load more than 15, so at least I can use my G17 mags in my G19 now, er in January.

Could somebody provide a link to this rule change. I was unable to locate on Global Village.

So your right Slavex. I see in Appendix D4. So my question....if I buy metal base pads for my OFM Shadow mags, will i be in violation of rule 19.1 ? The metal base pads do change the look of the mag and add weight. Capacity remains the same.

so,...buy tanfoglio mags, and get the rubber base pads from Freedom Ventures, or one of the Canadian dealers.
