It Lives!! Finally...New Whelen

Wow, I can't believe it took me this long to get this together. I bought the stock over a years ago..didn't know what to do with it. Finally found a stainless 35 after selling my blued one earlier this year. And that damn red recoil pad was hard to find, but it finally showed up this morning!! Thanks to the Gunnuters that help find the pieces. She's shoots 250's to an inch or there abouts...depends on the day the guy behind the trigger is having! It's a 6x36 on top, feels like she's sitting right at 8lbs, maybe 8.25 with the bedding agent...look out Mr Mulie

I agree - it's quite a looker - and yet also a great hunter with a 35 Whelen cartridge doing it proud. Biding your time sure paid off here!

Is that a factory Ruger hawkeye stock? Some nice "tiger stripe" figure there it seems.

It is a factory stock, but from a 338 mag I think. The barrel channel is a little big, but it works and is floated for sure.

Surprisingly nice stock for Ruger factory wood, though you see the occasional example like that. Overall a really nice looking rifle that should handle hunting season quite nicely.

Nah, everything is perfect ( very nice rifle ) except the bolt is on the wrong side!

nice......stainless and walnut makes a nice combo...I like the Whelen,..have built a few..only thing I would do differently is swap out the 6X for a 2-7 or a 2.5-8
