well as of 8:00 today I shot my first moose, it was a 2 1/2 yr old bull, who came to my calls,

I got to my cut at 7:45( a bit late ) and started my calls, after my first call I heard a bull raking his antlers against a bush, then heard teh unmistakable " woof", "woof" , so I threw out a slow call call and immediatly I saw this bull waking towards me at about 75 yrds, I quickly advanced my setup to intercept this bull, well after 3 minutes he came down the little tote road, 2 yards from me, yes it was 2 yrds, no word of a lie!!!!!!!!!!

anyways, I drew slowly and just as he spun I loosed my arrow, I made a perfect shot on him and saw him die about 40 yrds away, didn't even have time to knock another arrow!!!!!!!!

Interesting, alot of bowhunters are going back to aluminum arrows.
Was it a pass through?

no, it would have been a pass thtrough, except I hit the far shoulder on the inside, had it been just a rib rib shot, I have no doubt in my mind she would have plowed through...

way to go Grouse, our archery moose season starts today here in central BC , have to work thismorning but after that e and the new PSE Typhoon are heading into the swamps :twisted:

1 question , what were you using for broodheads ? (I have never taken a animal with a bow, just target shot lots) and was getting a pile of opinions on broodheads I have opted to use some mechanical spitfires but have a box of wasps fixed blades as well :? :?: (spitfires are coming with me tonight)

and 2 yards is dam close :lol: , but I wouldnt doubt it we had a young bull within 10 yards the other night on the job site and messed with his head for 20 minutes :lol:
