I have one of the new norc commanders and am very happy with it so far.The only problem is the rear sight is slightly off center and it shoots about 2 inches to the right at 15 yards.Elevation is perfect.I tried to drift the rear sight over but it wouldnt move.I took the slide to a gunsmith who beat on it a bit and it would not move for him either. In either direction.I dont want to move the front sight because it is centered perfectly.Does anyone know a trick to this or do i just keep shooting at the edge of the bullseye. Thanks for any help.

Just a random thought... the sight is plastic and the frame is metal, so it might help to either heat the slide up (maybe with a hair dryer?) a bit to try and expand the dovetail a smidgen, or possibly apply some cold (an upside down can of compressed air might do the trick) to the sight to try and contract the plastic a bit... either way the goal would be to try and loosen the fit of the dovetail enough to make it easier to drift the sight... Not sure it it would work, or if it is even a good idea! But it is a thought... ;)

Good luck!

I had a Springfield XD 9 that i wanted to change out the sights on and i put the slide in the freezer over night (at least -20 degrees celcius) and I finally did get the both front and back sights out.. Make sure it is overnight.. and then quickly as possible try to drift it.. that may help.. it did for me..

I have had severl Norc sights that were tight. i soaked them in penetrating oil for a few days, the put them in teh vice and used a steel punch to move them. Once moved, they moved easily for minor adjustments.

Thanks for the replies. The slide is in the freezer now,if that fails i will move on to the next sugestion. They all sound like they could work.

Are you experienced with a pistol? I am wondering if you arent putting too much finger on the trigger. If you havent already, try shooting with only your finger print that is directly beneath your finger nail and squeezing straight back. It might be shooter error, as many people have experienced when they shot a Glock etc. for the first time.
And I also wonder why your gunsmith didnt use a site tool on your site?
good luck.

"took the slide to a gunsmith who beat on it a bit and it would not move for him either"

I think you need to find another gunsmith.
