Picked up one of these last year with it's bayonet (not matching unfortunately) but don't know a whole lota about it other than they're pretty uncommon. Someone in the past has filled a fed dings in the stock in and unfortunately the rear sling swivel is missing. However, the bore is fantastic and most of the bluing is pretty nice. No idea on value as I mentioned, doesn't seem to be many of these around. I know a bit about the swiss vetterli's but this is out of my league. Bought it as an oddity

Looks very nice. I use to own an 1870/87 Italian Vetterli in 10.35 and it was in excellent condition for it's age. Sadly, I sold her many years ago to pay off some bills. I never did get the chance to shoot it but if I could go back in time, I most certainly would make the effort.

I have fireformed a batch of cases from 8mm Lebel, issue is bullet size. My cast bullets for the swiss vetterli's are too big for the italian. probably going to be decent recoil for a 310gr bullet at 1400fps from a 16 inch barrel.

Fire form 8mm Lebel and trim. It uses a heeled bullet. Some pics of mine. Disassembled, scrubbed, cleaned and soaked in hot oil. The action components are all milled and serialized. Mine isn't as pretty but is all matching. Bore is sharp and shiny.
