Ithaca 37 deerslayer. Did I miss out?

saw a 37 yesterday came with 2 barrels. sighted smooth bore deer slayer barrel, and a 28" vr barrel. It was in 6 out of 10 condition I would say. well used and marked up. very dirty never cleaned likely. guy was asking 450. I offered 350. he came back at 400. I thought hard about it but walked away. seemed to cycle fine, but too many unknowns for me. Did I miss out??

If it was an older model, functioned well and came with two barrels, I'd say $400 would be a good price.

i purchased a nice one at a gun show for three and a quarter with one rifle sighted deer slayer barrel .the second barrel would up the price. i owned it just long enough to sell it to my left handed friend for the purchase price.

I don't think so. $400 seems a little steep given the condition problems you mentioned. Maybe if it was an 8/10. I would have walked away from it too.

I would have passed, not only because of the condition, but also that Ithaca's quality started get a bit uneven around the time when the Deerslayer first appeared in the late '60s.
