Ithaca Auto and Burglar?

There was a rumour going around that during WW2 due to Lend Lease, America to Great Britain, many of these sat unsold in inventory because the NFA tax of $200 circa 1934 was too much for the average consumer.
So off to Britain they went, never to be seen again.
Sadly they were probably dumped into the North Sea end of WW2.
 
Memory fades with age! About 2010 or 2011 here on our EE one popped up for $1000.
The owner a gentleman in the GTA or thereabouts. I was too slow deciding. Apparently it was a 20 gauge the A model. It's finger/thumb brace(?) broke off sometime in the past. Hence it was screwed into place.
There were no pics I took his description off the phone. I don't believe the finish was great.
