Recently I've been in contact with Ithaca Guns concerning guns and parts and the VP of Sales has emailed me that they are looking to begin distro in Canada this coming fall. Having received a good interest from Canadians, they are getting their inventory levels up to support distribution.
Also they are looking to work on some catalogues as well as a some more hat and shirt lines.
Check out their website and I've gotta say , I admire their philosophy.

The only Ithica I own is a XL900, I love her. She's a machine.

...I only hope that on their return they've put more money into their new line of guns than their website. It looks like a 12 year old made it. All in all by looking at the new guns, I'm not very impressed. They used to make some great guns, I think they need to go back to basics and sell what worked in the past.

The only thing there that really intrigues me is the fluted barrel on the DS3 Slug gun. That's something you don't normally see on a 12ga. I'd think that if you were reaching for something new to your company like a fluted rifled slug gun with a scope, you might want to make it a auto and not a pump so the nutz could put a bipod on it and try pushing some range.

I have a ithaca model 37 featherlight w/ a deer slayer barrell as well. It's an excellent shotgun. It's nicely engraved as well.

I am looking for a way to shoot bigger shells through it if possible though, i wonder if they can help me out.

I have a few Ithacas M37s myself..so I feel qualified to say:

If one has a 2 3/4 inch shorter receiver on thier 12 gauge with the 7 shot extended magazine tube, plus a Model 87, 20 inch barrel (slightly heavier barrel than older M37 of Ithaca NY) with the iron rifle-type sights.

This just IMHO is the perfect, ever so balanced shotgun, for offhand shooting.
The centre of gravity is slightly muzzle heavy, seems to hang perfectly like a good rifle........

It feels like a 30-30 levergun, in handling that is, to me.

I love my M37 featherlight, I think they are the most ###y shotgun ever in production, but maybe thats just me.
Anyway Its my favorite shotgun that I own and it has never malfunctioned on me yet.
I hope they do start distro here though I need a good new yoke and screw.

Ithaca

Ithaca guns are only making pumps. The semi auto models XL series were made by SKB. SKB is again being imported into Canada and their tried & true semi autos now have 3" chambers and screw in chokes. I am distributing them -- anyone interested can send me a pm for info.
cheers.
