I have an Ithaca model 37 .12g pump with a damaged barrel. Is there somewhere I can get a replacement barrel for it? Is it possible to change a barrel with a 3" chamber instead of the stock 2 3/4 ?

thanks

Check Shooterschoice website out, they have a used model 37 listed for $125. You will pay more for a used barrel if you can find one. I saw a barrel for sale at Ancaster or Woodstock gun show this year but not sure which one for $150??????

Remember that if the serial number of your gun is under 855,000, barrels will not interchange; if both barrel and gun are newer ie higher serial nos. on gun, they may interchange without problems.

I did this on my shotgun and had no problems.

Just be aware that you can't use 3" shells regardless of replacement barrel.

The receivers of the 2 3/4" and 3" guns are two different lengths on Ithacas. This is not the case on all shotguns, 870's use the same receiver, just different ejectors.

ETA: Sharpe's Guns has replacement barrels, he bought out all of the remaining Ithaca stock when they shut down the Canadian factory. Some of his prices seem quite steep, but you never know.

I have been looking for a used early barrel at gun shows for
years for a customer and have never found one .
the gun is a p.o,s. truck gun , so of course he doen't want to pay
for a real good barrel- ie expensive.
I have seen these 2 3/4" guns sell for less than a used barrel would be.

If you find a pre-855000 barrel to fit onto your receiver *THAT DOES NOT MATCH*, it can be professionally fitted for about 60$ (or that's what Reliable Gun in Vancouver charged me). Quite a bit of cutting involved, so can't be done on your lonesome.
