So I’ve looked around online for M37 front sling mounts and the only thing that comes up is d/t’ing the barrel locking lug for a swivel mount, is this the best way or is there some other way people have approached it? I can easily make a swivel stud on my lathe, does anyone know what thread size was used? From what I gather the police and riot models came with them, a sling on a shotgun is a must have for me. Hell its a must have on any long gun for that matter.

Ithaca has the stud you want. Like you noted you would have to drill and tap. It is 10 bucks US and they ship to Canada. I have put slings on a few 37's and this is the most workable option. It is strong and unobtrusive.

I thought that might be another option, do you have a pic of yours ninepointer?

Beauty, thank you for the info and pic. Looks real nice.

Yeah but I’m fully capable of turning one up on the lathe. ;)

All three of my barrels are already drilled and tapped. Yours isn’t? Is it a newer model?

I know for a fact the newer 28 gauge guns the barrel does not have a D & T position on the barrel lug.
Neither does my 1971 made 20 gauge M37 with its 26 inch smoothbore barrel. The much more recent fully rifled M87 barrel that fits this 20 gauge receiver has the D & T sling position.
I believe all the 12 gauge barrels I own have the sling position.
