Hey guys,
I've had my M37 12g for a couple years now and its never given me a problem, I've taken it fully apart and put it back together without problem.
I went camping this weekend and when we were about to start shooting clays, as soon as I cycled a round, and pulled the trigger, Click, no bang, standard misfire drill, then tried again, click no bang.
I inspected the live round, and there was no indent in the primer.
I suspect its the firing pin, but I believe that this is something that would have started with intermittent issues. My second thought, it was well below freezing, could the firing pin sieze? I then sprayed hoppes gun lube into the action, tried shooting again...click, no bang.

Any advice? its frustrating because when you dry fire, it works, but I don't want to keep driving out to the bush or range to do a test fire to see if it works...

Thanks guys

Evan

if it is a 12g then open the action and put a dime in the barrell then close the action and tap the barrell so the dim e sits flat against the bolt face then pull the trigger you will hear the dime ping if the firing pin is week a good firing pinwill send the dime bouncing and you will easyly hear it in the barrel if just a littel ping then you need a new firing pin if nothing at all you may have broken the fire pin and you will still need a new one but this test will tell you if it is just week or not wroking at all DUTCH

had a simaler problem a few years back with my deer slayer are you sure its cocking when you pull the slide back .My problem was solved by taking the butstock off and cleaning out the old pine needles and stuff between the back of the action and the stock. There is not much clearance in this area on my gun.

The 37 has a straight firing pin like many other shotguns if the firing pin breaks it flies straight out the front of the bolt unbenounced to the shooter they usually break a 1/4'' back from the bolt face the only way to know for sure is to disassemble and check.
