This 1972 Model 37 12 ga was gifted to me after the original owner passed away. The only application I had for its 30" full-choked 2.75" chambered plain barrel was trap. After I moved away from my trap club the gun sat in my safe for the last 6 years, until now. Today it received a 26" improved cylinder vent rib barrel which I'm looking forward to test-driving at 5-stand next week. I'm more of a double-gun guy, but at 6lbs 13 oz the M37 feels surprisingly lively in my hands. My teenage son has visions of downing upland birds and crushing clays with it. It will be good see it in the field :)

I have a M37 here that was a well used beater. 30" bbl with full choke really wasn't much good to me so I have the bbl cut back to 24" with a poly-choke.

While it's still a beater (perfect quad gun :) ), it handles a LOT better for upland and is much more useful.

Very nice shotgun, btw.

They are ALL made to shoot. Glad to see it's starting to get out of doors. Put it in your son's hand's and watch the two of them in the field. Seems like a good plan.

Ithaca pump guns are so out of style, you should just sell it to me...wink wink
Actually thats a great looking 37 you have, the 26”bbl will make it a great shooter. I just ordered a new 28g 37 with upgraded wood and English stock straight from Ithaca, cant wait to get my greasy hands on it.

I love the pre-war style forend on those Upper Sandusky guns. I've shot a few clays with other's M37s in 16ga & 20ga, and dare I say that the M37 in a sub-gauge strikes me as the only snickety-snick gun that is in the same league a good double in the grouse woods ;)

(Actually, only the Model 37 goes snickety-snick. All other pumps, including my Wingmaster, go clackety-clack) ;)
