What you have there is a 600 trap. A 600 field in that condition should be around $700.00. However, a trap model will be harder to sell because of the advancement of competition guns over the last 10 years --- Mobile chokes/recoil reducers/back boring/lengthened forcing cones and so on...... These guns are very well made and I've never seen one shoot loose --- very few issues -- built like a tank. Anyway after that ramble I would estimate it at $550 to 600 for an entry level trapper.

Anyone know whether these have chrome lined barrels?

P.S. I have a 500 field and I much prefer it to a Citori for fit.

Anyone know whether these have chrome lined barrels?...

As I recall, they do. The SKB's came out of one of Japan's premier firms, Sakabara (est. 1855), and equally as renowned as BC Miroku (Brownings) or the former Olin-Kodensha (original Mod. 101 Winchesters). Tough as tramps ... they share more tha a few design features with the German Merkels.

I put literally thousands of rounds through an Ithaca 600 Skeet. No issues whatsoever !

For a "no frills Trap Gun" , $750 would be a good deal. I would also prefer the SKB to a similar-featured Citori.

Hrm,

Those chrome lined-bores are going to make getting the chokes reamed-out less of a possibility. I was hoping to start shooting skeet with my F/M field gun.
Unfortunatly it cracked the forend and a replacement is darn near half the price of gun to start with.
Cheers,
Grant

Absolutely agree on the build quality.....had a SKB 500 20ga with 28in bbls in Exc+ condition that I eventually ended up trading, without any cause. To this day, I mentally kick myself for letting that nice Upland piece go.
