I have reacently aquired an Ithaca guns co. side by side made in N.Y. The gun is in deacent shape with the original wood and even has the serial # carved right into the wood under the forstock. I am just looking for any info anyone could provide about these shotguns and/or there quality, value, or when they where made. All the numbers are matching and it has a really dark wood on the stock. In general it feels like a really solid shotgun but I have never heard of the brand.

it's most likely a New Ithaca Double. dates of manufacture 1925-1948.serial #'S 425,000 -470099.the magnum model was 500,000 and up.however ithaca made , before the NID, the Flues model, the Minier model, the Lewis model.the Crass model and the Baker model which began its production run in 1885. some of the models had serial numbers that over lapped. they were a very good quality north american made sxs. in excellent condition a grade 7 crass can go as high as $20,000.00.i have an ithaca lewis DOM 1903.it's serial # overlaps with the crass and sometimes identification can be a little tricky, since the only stamping is the serial # and the words Ithaca gun company. hope this helps.
