hey guys I was over at a buddys and his dad has a few guns to sell one is a Ithaca xl900 auto loader in 20g 3 inch mag with fixed mod choke ,it is in great shape and I was thinking about my daughter .any idea what kind of value these have ,I would say it is at least 90 % ,Dutch

I would think around $450.00 for a 20 gauge give or take.
I had one in 12 gauge that I bought new in 1977. I often had an expensive single shot no matter how well I cleaned it. I took it back to the dealer twice. I might just have had a lemon because supposedly they were good guns.

I have an Ithaca 900 in 12 gauge (not the XL version, mine is recoil operated, not gas operated like the XL). They operate like the Browning A5 you have to adjust the recoil rings and put a little oil under the recoil spring. Before putting oil on mine it was operating like a single shot. I picked up mine in great condition (near pristine) for $350 shipped last year

A nice 20 guage XL900 (gas operated) should be worth $300-500. A 20 guage semi has to be one of the nicest shotguns to shoot. We sold a nice XL 12 ga. last week for $325.

I really like shooting my 20g 900, it is my grouse gun while hunting. I was thinking of trading it but my wife said no way - it is the only shot gun she likes to shoot. Feeds no issues and is light to carry. Mine is only 2 3/4", I wish it was 3" with a Mod choke. Buy it - you will like it.

Put a million and a half rounds thru a Ithaca XL900. Absolutely awesome gun. Still running today I believe.

Now there is a true "exaggeration"! I had an Ithica XL 900 I bought new around 1983? It didn't survive one summer of trap shooting using nothing but 3 dram target loads! I don't think it had more than 2500 rounds through it and it was a write off. It still looked ok but it sounded like a rattle can when you picked it up. It never got to see it's actual use I bought it for, duck hunting. I had to sell it and buy something else.

the guy wants 450$ for it .it is in great shape but I am not sure I want to step up that high .,as I am not sure it can handle light target loads.Dutch

I picked up a XL 900 20 with 3" chamber a couple weeks ago from the EE for $450. Took it out yesterday to bust some clays, it operated flawlessly with Federal target loads. It's a keeper!

Right hand side of the forearm should have a hole in it to insert a small flat screwdriver. Or if you take the forearm off you'll see it on the right side of the gas cylinder/barrel lug.

I have an XL900, but there is no way to adjust the gas. It is a 2 3/4". I took the forestock off, but no adjustment available.
