Hi, Anyone know where the best place to order a firing pin for a 49 repeater would be.

Western Gun Parts in Alberta is a good place to try.In the past I have obtained some hard to find parts from them for other firearms.


How do you like your Ithaca Model 49R?It is one of the .22 rifles that I would like to own.

28 guage; I always wanted one and found this at wholesale sports. Its in nice shape but misfires over 1/2 the time. Going to put in a firing pin if I can find one

I remember when the Ithaca Model 49R was being made I wanted one,Could have bought one new for 70 or 75 dollars,When I finally got around to buying one they were no longer in production.They had been replaced by the Model 72.A far different action.I bought one of the Model 72 rifles.The rifle worked well but it was not a Moderl 49R and I did not like the front sight on the Model 72 so I sold it.

I have a friend who has the single shot version of the Model 49R the Model 49.He enjoys the rifle very much.It is very accurate.

Let us know how you do finding the firing pin.

Other than the misfires how does the rifle function?Is the rifle accurate?
