Got my Ithica today. Gave it a cleaning and plan on taking it out later on when it's not so hot. I bought some ammo to try out
WSX .22 LR Plated Round Nose (40 Grain HV 1300FPS)
WSX .22 LR HV (40 Grain)
Remington Yellow Jacket .22 (33 grain)
Federal Game Shok (31 Grain)

I'll show some pictures of the gun and the targets later when I go shooting this evening. I must say the .22's action slicker then butter you don't feel anything when your working it. Till later

Here's the Ithica 72 Saddle gun

I figured I'd add the M88 in to. So along side the Ithica is the M88

I just have to say that the action my .22 is so smooth it's unbelievable. It's smoother then the Henry .22 I checked out at WSSO. Which I'm hoping will call me back and tell me I got the job.

I'd add pictures of my targets but I spent more time plinking at a pop can and empty shot gun hulls with different ammo. As for the ammo I got, Yellow Jacket are BAD my gun didn't like them at all. Out of 48 rounds about 10 actually hit the target or around the target (about 18"x18" at 25 yards. Seemed to like WSX (silver gray box) along with some American Eagle worked quite well. Didn't get around to the other ones as it was trying to rain along with some Lightening so we packed up.

Since I want to swap the Tasco from the M88 to the Ithica I'm going to have to get new bases and maybe new rings depending on if the rings fit the new bases (no idea what the ring and bases are sorry).

My other pictures didn't turn out nice for some reason so I'll have to add some more later.

Front Sight Hood

I just remembered this. How does one re-mount the front sights hood. As you can see in the picture it isn't on. You can see it laying on the floor in the top left corner (since picked up and placed in the safe for safe keeping for now) The sight wasn't on when shipped but, I would like to get it back in place. Short of using two sets of pliers and pulling them apart then seating it, I have no idea what I can do. Any help/advice would be nice.

If its like most front sight hoods, its spring steel and will have a little flex. You just carefully slide it over the base, distorting it at first and tabs in the hood should lock into a channel in the base. No pliers required.

Nice toes BTW. :p
