Sitting out on my back deck, plus 30 degrees, still 4 hours of daylight left, and all the young pups are out calling and yipping. It sounds like a regular coyote symphony around here! Judging by all the noise it's going to be a banner year for coyote calling. I can't wait! Lots of foxes around as well. My 22-250 and 243 might get a little wore out this year.

Had my .222 out the other day testing a new load as well. Haven't shot it for quite a while, forgot what a sweet little rifle it is! Tested 3 different powder weights with the Sierra 55gr Game King hollow point. Hard to decide what to pick when all 3 loads shot 3/4" or better!
Mine really likes the Hornady 55gr sx and Sierra 53gr hp, both flat based. I bought the Sierra GK's to try in a faster twist .223 that didn't shoot them well, so I was just looking for a way to use them up. The .222 is so easy to load for it makes my other rifles look bad.
Back to the op. I've seen one young one dead on the road this year
and an adult standing in a field one evening but I've actually heard fewer than normal this year around here. Hopefully they're just keepin' it down.I've been drawn for a coveted Mule deer tag in my favourite zone, so the first 2 weeks of November will be dedicated to filling that tag, unless I get lucky during the archery or muzzleloader season.
My boy is almost 10 this year so I'm looking forward to getting him out calling. He'll be using my 17 WSM.
