well more like a bit of a late b-day present :D to my self :D

my Schmidt and bender showed up today! wooooooo

12.5-50x56, P4 fine retical and 1/8th moa adjustments, in 2nd focal plane.

the main tube is 34mm, so what are my choices for rings? iv toyed with getting the NEAR alphamount, but between $ and hearing what some have to say about any sort of single peice mount im still on the fence about it. so what other options do i have for high quality rings for my set up? im pretty much in the dark with this 34mm main tube stuff and dont even know where to start looking!

thanks guys!

and just because!

After laying down some high end dollars for a SB, I am very suprised price point on mounting would be a issue

It probably has more to do with some of more more experienced shooters opinions on single peice mounts. Beig to stiff and actually putting more stress on the scope body. If every1 said it was with out a doubt the only way to go I'd have already placed my order ..

Thanks for the suggestions guys , gives me some very good places to start looking

No fair....I'd love an S&B for my 338 Lapua.

I'd go with the TPS rings. I have a couple sets of them and really like them. No need to lap either.

Any chance of getting a pic or two of the turret markings?

Want to see how they are labled and which way they rotate.

Jerry

Jerry, I'll get you some pictures when I get home, iirc the elivations is counterclockwise to dial up and labeled 1-16 , the wind age is marked 1- (forget) and clockwise is to dial left an marked with 2sets of numbers for left and right

Mine is here as well - yipeeee ! Same as Ultimate Monkey's save for the fact that I ordered 1/4MOA per click ( I already have 1/8th on other scopes for matches ).Turrets are CCW.

I went with Badger Ord rings - saw little point in skimping on price.

Will test over weekend and add into the optics review I am writing.

Better get on with swapping scopes over now I guess.........

Pics for you:

Yep, thats the way to go. I got my S&B from Wolverine the other day (agonising nearly 6 month wait), but it is going into a Spuhr, which are actually pretty much designed for S&Bs. Spend the cash and order one, I dont think you will regret it.

Was there a blow-out deal on S&B's that I didnt hear about. Apparently everyone got one except me. :(

Your turrets go the "RIGHT" way.:D

Tomochan, your elevation knob is reversed. Can't tell on the windage dial. I think you need a little less coffee when taking pics w:h:

Love to hear both of your reports. Nice kit for sure....

his elevation is CCW-up and wind is CCW - right

might be a while befor i get a report up, as i still have no idea what i want to do for mounts..

but lets leave it at.. i took it out side to look around, and looking at a buildig 1000yds+ on 12.5x it was like standing 2 feet away from it, the glass on this is amazing! its like blue ray compared to the old black and green crt screens!!
