Eotech was excessive at not really extreme temperatures, if I recall. But its bad in an Eotech, not bad in others?

I had significant thermal drift with an XPS 2-2 at only -8. I have no issues with my Elcan or ACOGs.
Yes all optics have some degree of thermal drifts, and no optics are parallax free.

That's the point I'm trying to make with all the Eotech haters. ALL electronic optics are going to have both parallax and thermal drift.

I shot my 553 in a 3 gun match at -20C, it still maintained zero.
There were more issues than just thermal drift with Eotech sights. I really wish people would stop parroting the garbage they see posted online and do the research. Eotech sights have a laundry list of issues, the thermal drift occured at all temps with failure to return to zero regardless of temp swings. Delamination/reticle fade(moisture incursion) was another huge problem. Hard to use the optic for mil/le use when it isn't water tight. Add in unknown battery drain, intermittent battery contact failures and other problems and it is easy to see why the US military sued Eotech/L3 Communications and won without a fight. Same reason the company offered a no questions asked refund to anyone with an Eotech sight.
Your sample size of one means nothing. Apparently the testing done by the FBI, NSW Crane, and Eotech themselves must be wrong because you claim to have had no issues..![]()
Some batches may have had problems but some of the best units in the world still use there products with little concern.
My Depts. XPS Eotechs could not make it through a week long carbine operator course in typical LMD wet/cold weather with each and every unit having multiple battery replacements. Some failed altogether, they would work when you squeeze the body ... they are junk.
There is a lot more to it than that. You have simplified something that is not a clear cut case by a long shot. Has there been issues yes. Early models yes. Problems or improvements have been made several times over since then. Battery power issues are old and not as big a deal as you think. Plus there have been tests that have proven otherwise with Thermal drift etc etc that disprove Eotechs issue are no different than Aimpoint for example. . Its was a minor issue. Mostly caused by a disgruntled Vice President (From Memory) who made Pompeii out of a hill. Lol

Carry on.
Read the post above by Sparrow. Do the research online where Eotech ADMITS TO THE MULTIPLE PROBLEMS ACROSS ALL SIGHTS MANUFACTURED FROM 2007 TO LAST YEAR. Again, the testing was done by the FBI, NSW Crane and Eotech themselves and they ADMIT the sights are defective in ALL areas mentioned above. Don't forget that Eotech continued to sell defective products to the military and LE communities for nearly a DECADE!! I don't care how large or small the issue(s) are, if you continue to do business without disclosing the issues you are a f**king snake! Profit over lives is about as low as it goes..
I have both a mixture of Aimpoints and Eotech, never had an issue with either.
