It's official , 30-06 too small for white tail!!!Magnum as must!!!

I have no idea where that blurb is from, but given the awkward terms being used and the total misconceptions, I would guess the author has only "read" about hunting and has zero practical experience... Obvious horse pucky.

He does not say a 30-06 will not kill a Whitetail, only that it is harder to hit a deer at extended range with the slower bullet. I choose the 300win over the 30-06 just as many choose the 30-06 over the 30-30. Just because my caliber of choice has "magnum" in it's name does that somehow make me some kind of deviant. This is the same old argument between compound bow and stick bow users, musket users and inline muzzle loader users and standard caliber rifle users and magnum caliber rifle users that goes on and on. I have killed big game with calibers from .243 to 375H&H.
How about we live and let live.

Since whitetails are a long range hunt...

Where the heck does that come from? I got 30 or 40 racks hanging on my fence posts that say otherwise, or maybe those deer didn't read the memo.

Posted as humor not as fact, nobody is takin jabs at ya. ;)

That was the stupidest thing I've read in a long time. I have to go tell my .30-06 that its been living a lie since the mid 60's. I don't know how I'm going to explain this. I better get a .300 wm so the bullet passes clean through instead of passing clean throu... wait...

"Camouflage is important for both"

And yet while standing in jeans and a jacket in the middle of a field white-tail will still walk close enough that you could make use of the bayonet on a SKS.

How many bowhunters are reaching out to beyond 400 M ? These days Magnums are passe, now it has to be an ultrashort Mag to have any respectability in the deer woods. 30-06 is an old grandpa round only used by fudds and Noobs who don't know any better ;) . Not like my ultra modern 6.5x55 deer cartridge.

I guess the deer and black bears I head shoot with my .45acp rifle must not be dead, better go down to the freezer to make sure...

So he talks about how to bow hunt white tails, and in the next breath says that a 30-06 doesn't work for typical white tail ranges. Seems to me that it should do better than the bow would. Wow.

Lol I guess I need to tell my .270 and the deer/bear in my freezer that it's apparently too weak a round for a 400 yard shot and those pass-throughs were "flukes". Haha.

I'd love to meet the pinhead that wrote that and slap him with photos of Moose I shot with a clean .303 (No scope).
Seriously, who writes this crap? Whitetailed Deer are long range? Maybe in some cases in SA or AB , yeah. In BC and ONT you hit 'em with a stick to stun 'em, and slow them down a bit.

:D
