It's official our laws suck

Its unbelievable that in this day of rising health costs and suburban sprawl, we can't use suppressors on our guns! Its accepted in France and the U.K. and many American states.

they are not in France.

only allowed for the lieutenant de louveterie on predator or other controls so not for the crowd at all ... if you read the french firearms laws and wish you have them i suggest not to focus only on one thing you need.

they just gave some military calibers for the hunters but with a lot of limitations not my dream at all and i lived there ....

Their are plenty of Canadian laws that suck, including not being able to carry. Apparently we don't need to defend ourselves, suppressor on the other hand I don't see a need for unless your an assassin lol. Sure they would be cool and fun to own one but other than that .... Useless in my opinion.

Lol @ the size of the lever on the Rossi.

Anyone who's got hands THAT big, even with winter mitts on, probably doesn't need a gun to protect themselves from anything of this World...

I'd love a silencer. It would keep my neighbours from complaining about all the noise when I'm out shooting in the bush and even eliminate the need for muffs!

Why do you think they're useless?

I guess I didn't look at it from that stand point in your case I can see the use for a silencer, although when I hunt I don't wear ear protection the sound disperses into the woods, yes I realize it can have a long term affect on hearing but I guess I'm not shooting that many rounds at once for it to affect my hearing as much. I live in the city and only shoot continuously at my range so for me its pointless I have to wear eye and ear protection either way

Get a hearing test done. I have a loss of hearing at certain frequencies from doing exactly what you do. Its not too bad yet but I am not that old yet. Every shot adds up and its cumulative over time. Most shooters have the same type of loss that's abnormal in the general population. I would be shocked if you don't have some level of impairment.

Some of us value what's left of our hearing and value our safety

Sorry to say but it's thinking like this why we probably never see silencers and especially carry laws in Canada. Silencers are not an assassin tool. Silencers would be an incredible tool for use at ranges. No complaints from neighbors close to range, hearing protection actually not required when practicing. Imagine the possibilities for hunting...would be like using a crossbow with 300 yard range. But most importantly hearing damage would be prevented.

An assassins tool LOL you guys need to get your info some place other than TV. Go ahead and show 5 crimes in north America that silencers were used for (other that possession offenses)
