First some background.

I have been hunting since I was a kid. Rabbits, gophers, deer, prairie chickens.. the usual in southern Saskatchewan.

This is my first moose season and I leave a week from today. I talk about it all day, I plan for it all evening and now... I'M DREAMING ABOUT IT. On the weekend I dreamt about the drive to moose camp, last night it was setting up moose camp... its frickin' chronological!

HELP ME PLEASE....

You say that like it's a "bad" thing. ;)

Seriously, visualizing the hunt just means that you're really getting into it. Nothin' wrong with that.

See the moose... he's got a huge rack... you're holding steady on his boiler room... breathe... squeeze the trigger... be the bullet... (bring a knife sharpener ;))

Have fun on your hunt!:)

I just bought a new knife from the EE with a very nice edge. Steel is in my pack and a Spyderco is on the way from LeBaron's.

I've double checked the list and I can't wait. I've got 12 days off work then I go back for 8 then go back out for 9 to hunt elk in the same area near Hudson Bay.

Even if I come home empty it will still be a great trip. But coming home empty isn't an option or I might have to quite this website... or get kicked off.;)

Oh you bet. A girl at work has a list of all the things she wants pictures of so she can frame them and decorate her house. She puts up pictures of the season when the season changes so she wants some forest shots.

I wonder if a picture of a dead monster moose will make its way on to her wall?

You think that's bad???

At least you leave in a week! I won't even be back (in Canada) until the end of October, but already I dream about deer hunting every night, and think about it for an hour or so before I can fall asleep. :p

It's going to be down-right painfull to see other peoples archery deer start to show up on the big-game-pics thread!

Goodluck with the moose hunting!

Tim

I think that TV commercial with the husband and wife in bed trying to sleep says it all...the one where she rolls over and pulls the sheets off him and he is already dressed in his waders, camo etc, waiting to go. Thats me with deer hunting every year...its GREAT :D Good luck.

Moose hunting has to be the most exhilarating hunt there is
I hope you get one, better yet, I hope you get to call one in. There is no more satisfying thrill than watching this monarch appear from the brush and then taking it
it will be a memory you will cherish the rest of your life:)
