What does Grayling compare to in texture and flavour?

Nice fish, nothing beats a good day of grayling on the fly rod.
You do not need to 'get land' there is lots to go around. Give up on the 'some day' dream and go take a look. Chances are any skills that you can sell in TO you can sell twice as easy in the north. Unless your leg is in a bear trap or you got kin that can't move and need you then you aint stuck your spinnin tires.
firm and flakey. As to taste imagine a fish that comes out of the most pristine waters in NA (i.e likley zero upstream impacts) lives 9 months under ice and eats anything the north throws in it's path. It is not as good as brook trout or a lake trout but they are good.

I enjoyed the fresh fish I caught when we made a trip to the Yukon back in 1997. Beautiful country as well..

Too bad those veggies are;
1) As fresh as king tuts tomb
2) As expensive as his treasures.
My high school chum lives in the NWT and tells me that things like veggies are always 2 weeks old type thing and pricey too. Even caned goods are pricey. A case of Coke is $45? I think he said.
That a side, YES it looks like a decent meal. Would like to try eating Grailing some time

Always wondered if anyone ate Garyling? Fishing shows always show nothing but catch and release on them but I watch and think they must make for a great shore lunch cooked fresh on the riverbank!! Have to say that looks delicious!
If prices are that high I would build myself a little greenhouse and grow my own vegetables. Seeds can be mail ordered pretty cheap and I am sure there are enough Moose around to gather a few bags of soil enrichment material!!

The hardest part of fresh vegetables is trying to keep the carrots under control during the long days of summer.
And don't even get me started on potatoes. Digging 6 sacks of potatoes out of a 6X20 ft patch of back yard is hard work!
It is really, really, hard to get fresh vegetables.
Your chum obviously doesn't want you moving to NWT.
We even have to cook without electricity sometimes!
