Morning folks.
I see many issued iur rifles have a cover over the grenade lug on iur uppers. I have read it is rubber but i have never seen one available for purchase. Do these exist on the market and will they fit the 15.7 iur??

Yep they were available for a short time with the Danish overrun I believe. Very few, and should fit all IURs with the lug I would think. I would love to get my hands on a couple

It doesn’t work with a M203. They don’t line up.
It’s designed to work with the HK M320 I believe. (AG-NL, AG-C, AG416 etc)

It's kinda work with M203.

I removed about 2mm from front of the lug to match the slot in front of it. That's pretty much it.

It's like steady 2min with a fine file.

Take the lug right off and it will allow you to mount the 203 at least 2 slots more towards the mag well, which in my opinion is better. I'll soon be able to demonstrate that issue.
Otherwise the lug may have been installed for use with an HK 40mm, but the lug is still not needed as the HK launcher usually also mounts forward and attaches to the bayonet lug, if there is one, or uses the interior launcher latch for the butt stock, to engage the pic rail, thereby making the lug of no use. Either way, the lug just gets in the way for either the LMT launcher and the HK GLM.

And it simply gets in the way if you grab your rifle near the mag well for shooting.

Kinda like an answer looking for a question.

I’ve seen 2-3 hit the ee in the past year or two. They’re gone in minutes and usually $80-100 range. Every time I’ve contacted someone with one it’s sold.

That's true about removing the lug, I tried but it's better with lug on if you like to keep it as upper only and go on with different lowers.

It's also easy to remove and maintenance as well since you are be able to fold down the upper a bit to remove the bolt and other regular maintenance.
