Anyone put their new IUR on a Norinco lower? I also have a new SA15.7 but don't really want to be swapping the uppers back and forth if I don't need to. Eventually I will try to find a Colt lower but in the mean time I am hoping that the two parts will be compatible. Anyone used this combination already?

An AR is an AR. All uppers should fit on all lowers.

I always thought that way too but it seems the more I research AR's the less confident that I am. Apparently not all manufacturers build components to the same specs and standards. The IUR and Norinco lower do fit together well enough so likely there won't be an issue as all of the pressure is in the upper. I guess as long as the BCG cycles it should work. Just looking to prevent damage to my IUR from something that I didn't consider.

All the heavy lifting is contained in the upper. If the upper locks into the lower and you can work the charging handle without the BCG getting hung up, you're golden.

Wow that's worse then putting a Chevy V8 truck motor in a Ford truck, don't do it man.
It only takes a minute to switch so why, why match that funky lower with that fine upper.

Okay I've said all I can say.;)

Cheers D

Indeed, here's a perfect opportunity to build a custom lower with some nice quality parts or pickup a used one of the EE... but it might be cheaper to build your own at EE prices. :)

That's a great idea. - take a $150 DA Lower, add a $125 Daniel Defense LPK and for about $300 you're set. Only your pride gets hurt.

works no issues what so ever, fits tighter with the IUR than my colt m4 lower....hehe

Bunch of elitists...as others have said the upper does the work. If it works, it works, and you save a pile of cash for ammo, optic, or gift for the wife so she doesn't stab you while your sleeping.

yep, norinco works, rather reliably I may add. just like a beater knife, I like it.
NEA on the other hand, I'm not even gonna get into it, owned one, it's the only instance I could think of a Canadian product is sh*te compare to it's Chinese counter part.
