I've gone and fallen in love with classy over unders.

This. I bought a Instinct L in June for $1300. I believe they have gone up to $1500 now though. I absolutely love mine. I love the feel, fit, finish. It has a Satin finish which I love even though the OP is looking for glossy. I think for a new O/U the Instinct L is awesome. I bought mine for field hunting, mostly pheasant. The gun is fairly light, which for some is good, some is bad. Recoil is not bad at all. Extremely happy with the Franchi.

In the future I may buy a used Browning or Beretta, they simply can't be beat at their used price.

My Instinct L

I noticed when I started looking for a new 12g shotgun that there was a lot of pretty severe attitudes around the B guns. I didn't have a ton of money to spend, and ended up with this same shotgun, Instinct L in 12g. I found it pointed great, and I hit a big chunk of what I aim at, and look classy doing it.

Will it hold up to long term use? I don't know, but it has 32 rounds of skeet, several pasture clay sessions and a bush walk through it this summer and doing fine. Also, unlike the used B guns, it has 7 years of warranty. I don't find mine light, although on the stands I do use homeloaded 7/8oz at 1100fps.

Im thinking about getting it in 20 too.

Browning Citori Field is a nice respectable O/U. Mine has been flawless, but it has seen some abuse over the years. it was my dads for about 10-15 years before me.
