I've received my new Tavor thread.

I'm getting a little pissed myself. But they did say everyone would have them by mid-feb.
So I will wait another 10 days before calling again

Im just disappointed. How many times can I tell my buddies that I'm going to get this thing and go plinking with it, and I show up with my 858??? I look like a liar. Frankly I wish I would have gotten an FN from Questar for the same money, but I really like the features of the Tavor...We all have come to expect delays, and appreciate all the sponsors hard work. But come-on...send me an email saying the problem is (X) and I swear Ill never post another sarcastic thing about this situation.

When did Can am say that? My last email from them said delivery Dec 15th. Maybe he meant 2010,there must be some confusion somewhere :p

Its funny no matter how hard we get on his case Canam never replies, I bet its just killing him not replying. He`s probablly reading all these post and gettin pissed :nest:

Tavor Nazi.............. NO TAVOR FOR YOU 2 YEAR!!!!!!! :kickInTheNuts:

I had that same thought myself, and with the recent price drop, I would have definitely bought a FS2000.

When did Can am say that?

I called CanAm, maybe 1 or 2 weeks ago, & was told by the person who answered the phone that ALL Tavor orders would be shipped by mid-February. I was also told that IF you ordered online you would receive a tracking # via email when it ships.

I then took the opportunity to tell whoever it was on the phone @ CanAm that I was getting a little short on patience, that I had placed my initial order & paid in full for my Chinese Type 97 on November 11th 2008, that I had waited 11 months for that issue to sort itself out & when it did not... I jumped onto the Tavor order... I paid in full on October 13th 2009 BECAUSE it was promised by mid December 2009...

All that to say, I am waiting till Feb.15th, and then I'm gonna be a little bit more than irritated. If the rifles are in country, which we have been told they are, then I am at a loss to understand the difficulty in getting them to their new owners.

Personally, I have been very happy with my previous order of a Grizzly, it went smoothly & I had my camp gun in very short order. This bullpup thing... Well, that's another story...

As others have said, a little explanation from CanAm would go a long way. At this point, come Feb.15th, I'm not sure any explanation will satisfy me.

Yeah I don't know what's going on either, but I'll keep waiting. I have a lot of cash tied up in these two guns.

An explanation would be kinda cool.

With my luck I'll be banned from cgn before I get one though.

You know, this is almost becoming embarrassing. Here we are (and I use the term "we" because I did have a dog in this race until recently) willing to cut CanAm an unbelievable amount of slack simply because they are selling a rare and coveted item. At least with the T97's they leveled with the customers about what was going on with that shipment, but this Tavor thing has me totally baffled.

I can honestly think of no other situation where a group of consumers would:
a) Pay in full in advance
b) Tolerate over a month's worth of no (or worse...mis) information
c) Not only not ask hard questions, but lash out at members of the group who even ask soft ones.

So, seeing as I have nothing to lose here (not like they can bump me in the queue now) here are a few simple (and multiple choice even) questions to CanAm:

1. Where are the Tavors?
a) Israel
b) Customs
c) CanAm's possession
d) All of the above

2. Why did CanAm deliberately mislead (read: lie to) their customers about receiving the shipment and the mailing of Tavors?
a) Afraid customers would cancel orders
b) Trying to confuse customs/RCMP/CFC
c) Trying to confuse customers
d) All of the above

3. Related to 2. above...Were the rifles shipped to customers in January that were posted here on CGN actually from the new manufacturing run?
a) Yes
b) No
c) All of the above

4. Why would CanAm utilize this form of customer relations (and I use that term quite loosely)?
a) See how far CGNers could be pushed
b) Best way to confuse Customs/RCMP/CFC as they'll be in the dark also
c) They only want truly dedicated customers, and this method weeds out the weak ones
d) All of the above

Excellent post Farmer Harv. So I have a question for you as you are now the acting moderator in a one sided arms deal...and like the first few guys who received their Tavors, your the first one who canceled your order.

How was your refund request handled?

Did you get ALL your deposit back? Or were you charged for canceling?

When you got your check, did it clear or go NSF?

Maybe a new thread is in order: I canceled my Tavor order and this is what my cheque looked like when it actually came in the mail??

No probs with the refund process. Received it as a credit card refund as apparently their EMT limit is quite low, and it showed up on my online statement in a week and the paperwork from CanAm showing the refund (with credit card machine slips attached) the same day in the mail. I was also given the option of getting a cheque if I would've preferred that. There was no cancellation charge or any other issues, and it was probably the least stressful part of the entire 18 month process.

All I know is that I did NOT buy a T97 or a Tavor.....but I WANT to. I have the $ ready to go...*BUT*: I've been watching this since the beginning trying to get a "feel" for how Can Am is/if anything was learned from the T97 fiasco...and I gotta say, based on the performance/utter lack of updates and communication I'm seeing with customers that have dropped several thousand $......it will be a frosty day in hell before I "pre-order" anything from this company.

The sad part is that just an occasional update would have left me a definite customer :(

Guys, why don't you call him? So far only two guys in this thread have said they did and that was a week or two ago

Every time CanAm posts something on this forum regarding the T97 or the Tavour and can't deliver on the time frame, he gets crucified for it.

Importing firearms overseas is not like importing toasters.

I'm sure he's working hard trying to register, inspect and box up all the rifles.

FFS he's not like he has a 100 people working over there.

just gotta be patient guys, its gonna be worth it in the end. I mean anyways, whats the rush? 2012 is still 2 years away:D

I`m with you, Feb 15/10 then I`m done with this hopefully. I hope it wont be a problem with money refunds.

I have never paid this much in advance for anything with so little information from the seller.Hell my last truck I bought was a factory order and I only had to put down $500 untill it was built.

Reread my post #18 above… When I phoned I was refused information. I have however phoned back since then only to be greeted by an answering machine.

I don’t want to hear any more about how hard it is to import guns or how much work is involved – nobody disagrees. The problem we have is being kept in the dark or mislead on timings. Here is the proof:

Would anyone who does not agree 100% with the following statement send me a PM and I will edit this post and keep the count up to date:

1.) Importing firearms, especially black rifles is an extremely difficult process and I am grateful for any efforts to bring us great firearms.

Total PMs received stating they disagree with the above statement (0)

Assuming CanAm happens to be right this time, I would say Feb 19 would still count as Mid February. Add the shipping time and we are almost to March. I ordered in early 08 and I know the CFC does not have one registered to me yet.

Sorry, I meant to stick this in my above post...

I wonder if we can start up a legal fund and hire Angela Lansbury to get to the bottom of this whole TAVOR thing?

How does that prove you've been mislead on when the rifles were to arrive? Do you realize how many moving targets have to come into alignment to properly import a firearm? Sit down and think about it. It's probably easier to predict an earthquake than it is to predict the exact time an imported rifle will be ready to ship.

But hey it's your call, if you want a Tavor, just go to the next retailer who's selling them.

P.S. I wouldn't hold your breath looking for one....;)
