Hello,

I've seen all of these great pics of beautiful guns on this site, now show off your old workhorse......

mine is a Sureshot Repeter.....Drywall screw holding the stock together, no bluing left, makeshift grinding on the stock (trying to make checkering style idea I think)....bought it for $10 a couple years ago...wanted to fix it up, but it is growing on me know....good for just throwing in the bottom of the boat or floorboards of the truck....still shoots great though. The pics do not do this rifle justice or shall I say makes it look alot better in these pics.

Looks like a cooey model 60, which it is, sureshot was just a productino name for sears I think, I now I will be corrected on this though. great rifles.
 
yep pretty much is a cooey 60., the only difference I can find is the size of the forend, slightly thicker and rounded....I love these cooey's. great guns, tough as nails, I can usually find them cheap, and each one I get has a great story behind it. (Like one of my 39's, was a trappers rifle from the 50's/early 60's or earlier from the Klondike area).....

Just pulling your leg, bro. Love em daily driver .22s. Interesting thread because these guns have character and lots of stories to tell. Will take pics and post mine later.
 
I picked one up for one simple reason-nearly 50 years ago I had friends in Maple Creek ,Saskatchewan ,and I learned the fine art of shooting gophers-with a single shot open sighted Cooey and a box of ''shorts'' in my pocket.Every farm house a one or two behind the door in the mud room
