I recently picked up a first model bulldog, however I noticed it had no cylinder stop. The gun is perfectly timed and comes to battery in double action. I tried researching this on the web and couldn't come up with anything. It seems strange to me there would be no stop pin anyone have any thought's on this? thanks

The colt 1877's,1878's, 1889's and second model new lines didnt have stop pins either...or notches in the cylinder for that matter. The 78's and 89's locked up via pressure from the hand. The 77's and new lines had a cylinder stop pin that crabbed the cylinder on the rear faces thather than the bottm...
