I've been wondering if someone stripped the finish off my Erma EM1. All the pictures I've seen have this gun with a dark finish. My stock is beech.

Can anyone tell me if they've seen this rifle with no color on the stock?

In the sling well where the wood is hard to get to the wood is definitely darker.

Don't get me wrong - I love the rifle. Especially now that I bought a new magazine and it actually works! The new mag was $100.00 - ouch. But if that's the difference between it working and not working, I suppose there's not much choice.

I ended up staining the wood. I think the original finish was removed from this rifle. There's a bunch of small details that were adding up. The dark sling well, the top parts of the stock beside the action were still dark. The inside of the stock. Someone sanded this rifle the wrong way too so there were some ugly cross-grain scratches too. It's "all better" now and I will take more pics when I'm finished staining.
