IVI cases. Reloadable?

I have found that the IVI 7.62 nato goes through the dies quite hard regardless if they are overlubed or not. Still, good brass!

could they have been fired in an oversized chamber?

in my case, no- it was the same chamber( my m14) and some ivi surplus i had kicking around- so it was technically virgin loaded ( the stuff that comes in the white box) said 20 rounds, 7.62mm lot #, and sept 78 if i remember correctly- wasn't even on strippers like bandoliered stuff

In the good old days, before 199?, the DCRA and provincial rifle associations received regular annual alotments of 7.62 and 5.56 ammo for their matches. A lot of that brass is still floating around as well (maybe even fully loaded rounds). The 7.62 IVI brass is excellent for reloading, escpecially for your M14s/M305's. I used the 5.56 IVI brass in all my AR15 variants successfully as well. The 303 brass is also very good, at least as good as any commercial brass. All are boxer primed. I've never has a decapper pin broken so far with IVI brass either
