IVI is no longer, so who is supplying CF?

GD seems to be buying everything.

FMN of Portugal was bought by Santa Barbara of Spain.

guess who owns Santa Barbara.

I read somewhere that IVI sells rifle cartridges (it was either .303 for the Rangers or 7.62) for a price of $1.60 a round. We could import for less.

The EXPRO plant mentioned in the "History link" made the IMR powders.

Don't know if they still do. Our tax dollars went into that plant faster then I drink Coca cola. They made the news lots back in the late 80s. Either because of the tax money they sucked up or because an employee was cooked alive.

Last I heard, that plant was actualy making money because it made the stuff in AIR BAGS for cars.

Expro Chemicals (EXPRO-TEC)stills makes all IMR powders for Hodgdon, the new owner of IMR. GD bought the equipment from FNM/INDEP. This was mainly because they were just installing a brand new Fritz Werner line before they closed. So presumable they bought it all for a song. Rumour has it that the land sold for E15 million!

I would find it unlikely that GD would close the plant because costs are lower and I doubt the feds would let them. But stranger things have happened.

Where did you read that GD was closing the plant?

General Dynamics comes up and visits when they want to test their latest armour, generally for the LAV. I was talking with their Trial Director up here 2 months ago and the SNC purchase came up. He indicated no plans to shut it down. Their quality control can only improve now.
