Ivory Grips

[CMichaud]

Hey guys

Can you import antique ivory grips into Canada from the US if they are on a pistol?

Thanks!

[Tuco Pike]

Why could you not? If you are allowed to import the pistol?

Bringing them into Canada, I don't know about that, but would definitely ask first. I do know from personal experience, that you will run into problems, going the other way, under the same circumstance, be advised, check it out! regards Bully

AFAIK you need a permit.

Pre 1971 ivory, cities permit. Look into it.

I ordered a Colt 1911 with Ivory, they said they couldn't ship the Ivory to Canada, I didn't look into it any more than that.

No importing elephant ivory. The international trade in elephant ivory was stopped in 1989.
You can get mammoth or walrus ivory here. They have the regulations on the site too. http://www.canadianivory.com/
