IWI ARAD - Israeli Piston AR15

Don't get me wrong .. it's great to have more options and I will never be the guy that tells you not to buy a gun, any gun.... but I am finding it increasingly more difficult to get excited over yet another AR based platform.

My only critique is that they need to make the hanguard at least 1.5" longer and have a slot like the HK416 and MCX for the gas regulator adjustment.

There isn't a lot of space for LAD 12'oclock mounting and switches.

i hear ya, the AR is just so good all around its hard to top, sure some designs might do one particular thing a bit better but at the sacrifice of other things like weight, recoil, accuracy, ect. i think if AR fatigue sets in its a good opportunity to explore other types of guns, or just get out and use the ones we have more often

I like the quick change barrel of this system - no bolt , no torque wrench like the LMT and the MCX. I hope they have a 9.5" 300 blk barrel ready and eventually a 7.62X39 for it as well.

A rifle is never fully ambidextrous unless it has the ability to switch ejection from right side to left. Just sayin'

Really bugs me when someone says something is what it isn't.

I've never understood all the hype for "ambidextrous" AR's, they've been ambi since production began. I know a few lefties who have absolutely no problem running a standard AR, you just do it differently than if you're right handed. It isn't difficult and they're just as fast on reloads as guys shooting right handed.

They can keep their piston, solution to a problem that never was. I've owned two PWS piston AR's and while neither gave me any problems I like being able to walk into a gun store and there being a very good chance the parts I want are in stock, not 6+ weeks away on special order and 5x the price.

Piston operated rifles are great but the AR does not need one.

I do like the quick change barrel though, as long as barrel kits aren't overly expensive.

wonder if it can land a NR status or if it's just a copy of existing platforms

its an ar-15 lower so no

With all the NR almost AR's available these days you'd think the lab would give up on the restricted by name crap and look at the rifle for what it actually is and just let these be non restricted as long as the barrel is long enough.

IWI = Junk

Ya, nowhere near as good as a BCL rifle :jerkit:

Could you please elaborate on your statement, There have been almost zero issues with any Tavor/X95 since they started coming to Canada, what problem do you have with their products?
Let me guess, you're one of those guys that thinks that if a rifle is over $2000 and it doesn't shoot sub 1 moa that it's junk?

Or we could do away with idiotic barrel length restrictions and make firearms possession a single-category matter.

Stop thinking like that right this second, we'll have no common sense here, this is Canada and we're supposed to judge things based on looks not on function, like we do with people. :HR:
