Good day folks,

Just wondering if there's any IWI pistol fans out there. I have a Masada Striker fire and a Jericho F and am in love with the both of them. Only downside is I screwed up and bought the Masada with out the optics cut out and now I really want one! It'd be really nice if this law gets voted out so there can be a chance to get one! any I am trying to get past my probation period so I can be accepted to the EE (day 3!)

Thanks

Jordan

Welcome to the forums!

My Masada is my range go to.
I have the OG version without the cut outs as well.
Fantastic vendor on site here who makes Kydex holsters for the Masada mold should you ever decide to go down that route!

Cheers,
Antek

I have the Jericho 941F and it is a fantastic gun. I bought a Masada from a friend of mine. It is the optics version but he purchased a Meprolight Micro RDS with back up sights so I have yet to use the optics cut. Basically remove the rear sight and slide in the new one. The red dot is QD and attaches to the rail. There is no need to re-zero the red dot after removal. Its a pretty neat system. Here is a photo of my set up.

Here is the write up from Meprolight.

Meprolight Micro RDS w/ Backup Night Sights

Technological advances in design and manufacturing made it possible for full-size red dot rifle optics to be reduced in size to fit pistols. However, there were three options— buy a new gun, have a gunsmith mill your slide or go without—if the gun was not optics ready. Meprolight’s engineering team solved this dilemma with the patented quick-detach (QD) adaptor Kit that utilizes the existing rear dovetail slot for sights to mount the adaptor to hold the Mepro microRDS or any other red dot optic on the market. It is the only mounting solution to have quick mount and dismount without having to re-zero the pistol. Now almost every pistol can use a red dot optic without the need to drill and tap mounting holes on barrels or slides. The adaptor mounts directly to a Meprolight TruDot™, self-illuminated sight which also functions as a back-up sight should the shooter want to remove the red dot optic. It can be placed back on the gun without having to re-zero the sight. The latest member of Meprolight’s extensive family-line of electro-optical precision red dot sights is the Mepro microRDS. The small— durable yet lightweight— pistol optic features a 3.0 MOA red dot which allows for quick target acquisition. The energy-efficient sight is powered by a single CR2032 battery that can be changed when needed without removing the sight from the gun. The large sight window provides greater FOV with both eyes open in any lighting condition—day, low-light or nighttime. Meprolight’s mounting solutions allow you to simply attach the Mepro microRDS to almost any model pistol, without needing to re-zero when removing and putting back into the same slot.

I have one with the optics cut, but it didn't come with plates!
I emailed them but no response. Shouldn't it come with plates in box?

Yes the plates should have come with the gun. Just a quick FYI if you are running a Holosun optic the 12 mm screws supplied for the RMR plate are too long. They will protrude to far into the slide causing reliability issues. I contacted IWI regarding this and this was their reply.

"The Holosun 507 and 508 are not technically supported optics for the Masada, however because they share dimensions with the Trijicon RMR it can be mounted on the RMR plate but as you pointed out yes the screws will be too long. I have seen instances of customers cutting those screws down to fit and having no issues running a Holosun. I hope this information is useful and if you have any more questions please feel free to reach out."

The Masada plates are plastic, I would opt for a metal one, screw length is important on the extractor side, mine was just a "hair" too long and ended up damaging the spring forcing me to replace it, a real PIA. Gravel are the distributor for the CHPWS plate(s) which will be the most economical and easiest to get.
