IWI Masada

I am struggling to think of any polymer frame gun with full length rails. Most have the Glock configuration and the Masada is no different. However, instead of being inserts into the polymer molding, the Masada's rails are part of a 1-piece steel chassis.

So, the Chassis would be inserted into into he mold prior to injection, rather than just the rails?

They now have my attention. I'm interested in what the triggers are like; the all steel Jericho is hard to beat in both single and double action; but from what I have read, the polymer Jerichos don't have that great a trigger.

So I have now put the first 100 rounds through a 9mm Masada.

This might become my new favourite pistol, but still need more time.

The things is beefier that I expected. I'm not a small guy, but have small hands for somebody 6'1" and 200#.
I'm using the smallest backstrap that came with the pistol and still struggling a bit maintaining my grip while hitting mag release.

I do like the sights and the trigger without any adjustment. It is accurate and, feeling a bit heavier than say a Glock, comes back on target better for me.

The mags are nice and feel reliable.

Disassembly is quick and logical. Does require pulling the trigger.

I have no intention on putting optics on this for the time being. The three dot sight work very well to me. The manual states that they are adjusted to 25m; I shot it between 12m and 20m and it was as good as any pistol I am used to.

I have a green laser lying around and will try it with that at some point.

I played around with a Masada at RDSC last weekend. The trigger wasn't bad, although it had a "rolling break" that I didn't love, and the reset was loooong relative to other striker fired pistols.

My biggest issue with the pistol was the grip texture, which felt like it almost required a stipple job. IWI could take a page from the FN/CZ/SW book when it comes to texture on a polymer pistol IMO.

I'll probably still snag one from the EE when they start showing up there to try out.

Maybe we need to start wearing grippe gloves; my Jericho's grips are smoother than they should be also. I'm looking for replacements presently.

I know it would add to the cost, but I am surprised that one or more manufacturers have not tried making an overmoulded frame with rubber grip panels like we are starting to see on some rifles (Savage). The technology is available now. CZ overmoulds rubber over steel for their stock grips on the CZ75s as well.

You measure from muzzle to breach face , 105 is 12-6
That P7M10 that is one Switchers sale tomorrow ,I had them check the length as I have had a few over 105, but that one says 105 the gunsmith said and that is what is on the card ( if he knows how to measure?
Yeah, the HK P7. I believe it's listed at 105mm.
I have had a couple guns measure 105.6 or so and had them reregistered to restricted there are 3 different FRT # for those because of small difference in barrels.

I was intrigued by this gun; priced low comparatively, yet all the reviews I’ve found have been favorable. I went and picked one up 10 days ago, and I’ve had it to the range a number of times, closing on 500 rounds.
I’m very impressed with this gun. Physically, it’s VERY close in size to my Glock 19X, though the grip is smaller. the trigger is better than a Glock, even the improved gen 5 triggers. it stacks a bit, the reset is long, but the break is quite clean. Sights are functional, nothing more. I’m putting a red dot on it anyway, it comes red dot ready, and they even include 4 different mounting plates to accommodate the most common ones. texture on the grip sides is not really effective, but it’s different on the front and back, and works reasonably well.
it’s a great shooting gun. Zero issues in 500 rounds of widely varying ammo. low felt recoil, minimal muzzle flip. metal mags, high quality for the price of them. field stripping is really easy, as is pulling the entire chassis if you want/need to (tools not needed).
Cheezy, cheap box it comes in, not worth keeping for any reason. Overall, I think it’s one of the better striker fired, polymer 9mm’s on the market right now. it would be a fine service gun, both law enforcement and military. I’m a Glock guy, but this gun is seeing a lot of range time; it’s a great shooting gun, well built and relaible. Hopefully now that it’s readily available, things like after market triggers, barrels, etc, should start flowing. with a good trigger kit, it’s a tough gun to beat out of the box. I would like to pick up another in a year or so, and see where it can go with some quality aftermarket upgrades

Absolutely LOVE mine! Didn't have the highest expectations, as it might've been just another striker fired entry into an already congested market. Boy was I wrong. IWI pulls it off again!

I'm getting conflicting results when I'm trying to find it's weight, some site sponsors have it listed at 35 oz. On the 'net, it goes from 22 oz. to 25 oz.

Can anyone tell me what it's true weight is?

The more I read about it, the more I'm likely to get one. I'm still hoping for a G45 this year?, but this may fit the bill for time being? adding a Holosun 509 and I'm ready to enter the MRDS game.

What did it say the weight was where you read 'bout it?
