IWI US to Phase Out the Original Tavor SAR.

Very happy to own my Tavor TAR 21, It has been flawless and with all the upgrades I have done to it..... soon to be a #####in' collectors rifle...

Internal parts are of the X95 and Tar21 are almost identical. There are enough external aftermarket Tar21 parts available out there. Tar21 owners are by no means being left high and dry.

All IWI Tavor's are made in Israel. US ones then have a few US 922r compliant parts swapped in. The US ones are marked "Harrisburg PA" in the polymer mold.

The Tar21 and Sar21 have both been discontinued.

I've put 1000 rounds through my TAR.

Great rifle.

Going to hold onto it now, and use it less.

Might pick up an X95 next year if the price goes down a bit.

All things high wear are largely the same on the x95, so borderline indefinitely?

IWI.us sold piles state side so expect them to have a good stockpile of parts. However, if you need anything, or might need something, now would be as good a time as any to grab them.

you mostly need to run an attachment (mesa tactical) and hk hook in front or hk hook in front and hk hook through the paracord.

What parts usually gets replaced the most on TAR-21? What are the causes for replacement?

In my experience the bolt carrier stopper gets beaten up pretty bad. I’ve owned two Tavors and both chewed the heck out of those small metal catches.

With teh Tar7 going into production I see why they got rid of the Tar21.

USGI and LAR-15. I’ve done the whole mag testing fiasco. Replaced a carrier stopper and ran only pmags and then vice versa and then a combination of the two. It didn’t matter what magazines were being used the outcome was always the same on both rifles. My second one has only seen USGI mags and it's doing the exact same thing.

Honestly, I think it has to do with high round count guns activating the BHO much more frequently than what is was intended for. It activates every 5 rounds instead of 30 and it is just a thin piece of stamped sheet metal that takes the impact of the bolt. It is easily changed so it is almost a non issue but that would be my guess as to why both of my rifles did that.
