Not to high jack the three but can anyone explain the difference between a gen 2 vs 2.5 and what can I look for physically to distinguish between the two?

Firstly, I'd just like to point out that you have the capability of creating your own thread in the appropriate section to ask this kind of question, and you don't need to high-jack/derail a thread about an entirely different gun. You can do this at any time...

But, in the interest of actually being helpful:

Gen 2: First versions with the flat-top rail.
Gen 2.5: Internal differences, no external visual cues. Typically most people refer to the gen 2.5 Tavor as any flat-top model with the "new" trigger pack. The "new" trigger pack doesn't have the secondary trigger reset spring that some people would often remove in order to lighten the trigger pull.

This is a 2.5 trigger pack.

If you have additional questions, please make your own thread.

The question I'm asking myself is how much I have to save for it. With taxes and shipping and everything, 3k should be realistic right?

I've read on one of the other threads - there are quite a few - that the FDE Tavors only came in the Gen2.5 configuration.

I'm no Luddite, but it took me awhile to learn how to navigate this site.

Keep looking and you should be able to find whatever answers you seek.

Good luck.

So will the improved trigger on the X-95 negate the need for buying a new trigger or does it still kinda suck??

Im putting a Lighting bow and Tav-D in mine. Factory bullpup triggers blow.

Some members of bullpup forum only put a Lighting Bow in the X95 with great results. But to me 5lbs is still way to heavy of a trigger pull.

a modular Tavor style pistol grip that can be swapped out to a standard pistol grip with traditional trigger guard and a smaller, lower profile bolt release button.

I assume these are proprietary grips/parts? will you be bringing these in as well right away?

Here are some lifestyle photos of the actual 18.5" barrel length, non-restricted X95 that is coming.
