Izhmash 7-2 magazines

Had a discussion recently with a guy getting desperate to find some spare magazines for his Izhmash 7-2 "Biathlon Basic"... For a reason or another, I'd just assumed that it was common knowledge that Marlin magazines could easily be modified to fit the 7.2

The steps involved are
1- Some shimming, I've used JB-Weld and some yogourt covers for the sides and back. Depending on the plastic you use, you might have to slowly sand it down. What you are aiming for are 29.5MM front to back and 12.8MM for the width
2- File a notch on the front for the magazine catch

It's a good tip and thankfully a number of .22LR rifles can be relatively easily retrofitted to use other magazines and/or complete mag assemblies.

Similarly, Savage Mk II magazines can be easily modified to fit Anschütz rifles with just file work. Arguably, Mk II magazines are better than Anschütz anyway and 1/3 to 1/2 the cost.
