J.C. Higgins shotguns ????

I have been looking for a old double barrel shotgun to do a project on, and I found one. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about it. It is a J.C. Higgins 16 gauge double barrel shotgun.

I know they are sold under Sears many years ago, but I have read that they were made by Stevens, Savage, and Marlin.

Does anyone know what manufacturer would of made the 16 gauge double barrel, and what chokes would be on the gun.

I am buying it regardless, because we worked out a really good deal, and he lives only 5 mins from me, and he says it works so thats all I care about because I am probably going to make one of those cool looking survival shotguns just for fun anyways, but I was just curious about it so if anyone has experience with this Model, any input would be helpful.

Ya, I read about those. The one I am getting tomorrow is a old SxS double barrel 16 gauge. I think that is was made by Stevens, but Im not positive.
