J R Carbine 9mm

Hmm, I'm rather interested in this now. I don't know why they couldn't have run the magazine through the grip though. That shaves off like 3-4 inches off the overall length if they can do it. That's what I like about the CX4 so much.

Still, no screwing around with rebarelling this way.

I cant find much information, no videos etc on this any of our american cousins have one yet. the emf website still says COMING SOON - APRIL 2010 anyone find some interesting info on this please post it.

Type G-9mm presumably means it takes Glock magazines. It also implies that the magazine well is removable and can be changed to, perhaps, a Type B-9mm for those who have a model 92.

Hmm, i just looked this thing up on gunbroker, and the one that's available there has a 16.25" barrell. Are they doing an 18.5" barrel length? EMF's website is rather sparse on details....

I found this on their facebook site:

John Sabatini: Any word on the JR Carbines? I've yet to see any press or videos on it. Still super excited about it.

looking forward to shooting this one. I have been looking around for quite a while for a good .45 acp carbine!

Update...The folks at J R Carbines, LLC have just redesigned the bolt/extractor on the J R Carbine. In the original design, the extractor was/is a solid machined component of the bolt. This is/was a good design; however, not very forgiving with the huge variances found in shell casings these days. With high quality factory ammo, the carbines ... See Morework great. With reloads, or cheaper ammo, some customers encountered extraction problems. This new design will be much more forgiving of tolerance variances. What this means though, is that we are looking a little longer delay on the .40S&W & .45ACP. The new bolts are in production now.

Also, the California compliant model with the 10 round mags & mag buttons are also in production and will be available in the beginning of August. We appreciate your continued patience!

The last reply was on July 12, 2010 so it looks like that they Don't even got their newer version together yet. I wonder which one Epps will distribute the newer versions or older.

I've been in contact with EMF, and from what I've been told they will be able to manufacture 19" barreled versions for our market place provided they get an order. Currently Epps is supposed to be working on the import paperwork, and EMF's exporter will complete their's once it's ready to go up here. The only issue will be the perceived look vs. the fact that it functions completely different from an AR.
