Hi not sure where to post is but I just picked up a J Stevens model 425 high power. It was missing the stocks and mag tube. But the rifle is in great shape. They look like a marlin but with a savage 99 bolt workings. Anyway does anyone know if marlin 336 wood will fit the Stevens.
 
I would not think so, but as these are not common, I have not looked at one for years.
if you got hold of a couple stock makers, they should know.
You could try Western Gun Parts in Edmonton.
 
Wow did I get lucky went back to the gun shop gunsmith I got the stevens from and went through all the boxes of parts that came with all the guns that the Steven's was part of and found everything but the 2 little screws that hold on the nose cap.
A bunch of rifles came in from a hobby gunsmith who died and had a bunch of gun in pieces the stevens being one of them. Anyway thanks for the help guys I'm almost ready to go try it out
