I've been having some issues with plated(Campro) bullets with a 9 Major Open gun. Copper is getting stripped at the popple holes and fouling the barrel badly from the holes to the muzzle resulting in really bad accuracy. After some reading it seems this is somewhat common with plated bullets in open guns.

So now I'm searching for a jacketed 121-124gr bullet that can be bought in bulk at a decent price...

Anyone have any experience with this?

Zero projectiles, not cheap, but a true jacketed bullet. Doubletap sells them

Had a local guy switch to Zero’s after having the same issue with Campro.... wish they weren’t so expensive thou.

Are there any other options for jacketed bullets that are available in Canada?

I've only ever seen one kind of BDX 124gr FMJ. It is shiny, fully jacketed except the base has exposed lead. The point is fully jacketed.

That makes sense, I talked to him today, I guess he isn't making the "JSP" anymore so I put a order in for a few thou FMJ's.

Thanks everyone for your help.

So just to update.

Only tried the BDX 124gr FMJ. Shot 3,000 of them now and have another 3k on the way. I haven't experienced any of the issues I saw with Campros or any other issues at all. 50yd benched groups I was able to pull off ~3" using a rolled up jacket for a rest. Might try putting it on bags and see if I can do better but proably going to just roll with it. Don't really see any need to try anything else at this point.

7.2gr of Winchester Auto Comp is netting 175 PF from a 4.7" barrel with two holes. Loaded at 1.170" OAL

Double tap sports a forum sponsor sells frontier projectiles who make a 121gr and 124gr bullet that has extra thick copper plating that doesn't strip in open guns. They have a copper plating thickness of 10 thousands per side. We are currently out of stock of the match grade bullets but a new order will be going in soon. The price is only a fraction more than the standard grade frontier plated bullets and is competitively priced with Campro.

I think it is Phil as fast toys who sells and shoots the Campro 121's in an open gun. I now he shoots many thousands of them and never heard of any problems.
