Jackie Schmidt Shoots 0.1118 5-Target Agg will the 6ppc & 6mmbr fade fade like deuce

Seems the 30 br seems to be top caliber of choice in score shooting, will it now dominate the group shooting as well ?
6 ppc has held record for quite some time not anymore with Jackie Schmidt record targets.
I would think a lot of 6mm br shooters might be looking for some slow twist 30 cal,17 & 18 for there guns.
I see JEC shot some amazing 30br at 300y in the challenge.
SMALLEST AVERAGE --------JEC---Barnard action 30 br .308moa
SMALLEST GROUP------------JEC---Barnard action 30 br .228moa

This was 3 years ago and was some remarkable shooting indeed. It is unfortunate the record committee didn't score it the same as the range scored 0.1118" agg. If memory serves it was officially scored around a .15" agg.

The 30 cal lovers can take heart in a .0077" 5-shot group that was fired this year using a 30 cal. It broke the existing record of .009".

6PPC is a long way from being de-throned in the short range group shooting game. 30BR has generated a significant following in score shooting where the fatter bullet hole catches a few more 10 rings and X's than a 6mm.

I thought caramels initials were JP?
Please.... don't get me confused... I make no claim to be a good shooter, I just shoot a lot and have some decent equipment. I am not a competetive shooter and probably too old to start going down that road. And, would have no issue trying to replicate groups with witness (assuming they will struggle through the snow to 300M to put up a target:) ).......or better yet, I could load up a few for any doubter, and let them shoot a few. No doubt in my mind that the 30BR is one of the "inherently accurate" chamberings. I have four barrels chambered to 30BR..and even the #3 Krieger sporter weight I built for deer is a better than average shooter in that category.

What about a "fast twist" .30BR in say a 1:11"-1:12" barrel? Wouldn't be a bad choice at .30BR velocities if a person was considering an informal target/varmint rifle with lighter weight bullets. With the short lead, even .30 Carbine bullets might be surprisingly more accurate for a plinking load. Cast bullets would be a natural too I would think.

I personally can't see anything heavier than a 125 gr being efficient in the 30BR, so would stick with the 1:17 twist. Berger 115's chronied at 3050 fps from a 24" barrel. I used Barnes 110 TTSX for the sporter weight deer rifle this fall (3075 fps) and took a decent buck at 180M. The bullet on the right was recovered from the farside under the skin. Center pic was one I did for the "Deer Rifle Challenge" shot at 100M. Last pic is the sporter build.

My 1:17 twists stabilize the Ber 125 gr FB without issue ... never bought any of the Nos 125's...are they quite a bit longer...do they shoot?
