Jack's favorite caliber

Nice rifle's Johnn, thats a good looking schultz & larsen, I also have one in 308 norma. Out of all my rifle's the schultz has the smoothest action by far.

:)Thanks.
The Schultz & Larsen is my favorite bolt action rifle. I was 'hooked' after I saw my first in the early 60's, a 308NM and at that time I promised my self, "One day"........... . Then about 1980, I acquired my first, and in 308NM which is my favorite 30 cal magnum. I'm not into collecting but I thought I'd try and collect the three that are represented by the cartridges on the cover of the old Norma reloading manual. Apparently these three were the result of a joint effort of co-operation between Norma and Schultz & Larsen. Not long ago, I finally obtained the one that proved a little harder than most to find, the 358NM. From the top down;
- A Schultz & Larsen model 68DL in 7x61S&H
- A Schultz & Larsen model 65DL in 308NM
- A Schultz & Larsne model 68DL in 358NM

Gatehouse's comment about the "filthy shag carpet" seems to have hit home... John, let the haters, hate... just shake, shake, shake it off!

A very nice set of rifles... with a definable purpose... and moosey looks as good as ever! :)

;) Not a chance in h**l!! All that comment served to get him is a designation of 'Royality'. Although the only member, he is the "NEW KING" of my ignore list.
Although only a few, there are a few 'family portraits' with a slightly different background. Another, sort of, is the group shot of my small family of Husqvarnas. Top down;
- Husqvarna model 3000 in .270 Win.
- Husqvarna model 4000 LW in .30-06
- Husqvarna model 1651 in .358 NM

Oh, and;) the only child in my Winchester 'lever family';
- A Winchester model 71 deluxe in .348 WCF

That Turdy Aught Six is sure purdy... I'm a sucker for a curvy redhead...

And,;) for a trip down memory lane, that was my 1st Husqvarna and it was passed down to me when dear old Dad passed away:(.

Oh, an early hunting photo of Dad in the 30's.

And, on my first Mule Deer hunt on draw in Alberta, with my Daughter & SIL, as a 'family thing',:) I used Dads pride & joy in memory of him.

Though I can't compete with some of the older gentlemen on this site, a Ruger 77 in 270 Win was the first hunting rifle I bought and 35 years later I still have it.

I would happily hunt anywhere with a 270 Winchester. To say that you couldn't be very successful with this cartridge anywhere in the world would be ridiculous.

With the right bullet .270 will punch through AR500 plate.

IIRC deer are a lot thinner skinned the that, lol.

Personally I have no problem with the .270 and would buy one if needed another rifle.
