JAE stock has arrived! (pic heavy)

The palm swell is an add on that you can put on yourself if you do change your mind so the door is still open.

I'm curious though if I should have gone with the quick release for the cheek rest for putting a cleaning rod through. I'll have to see how easy is when I try it.

I'm taking it out on Sunday to the 900yd spot so we'll see.

The rifle shot well with my McMillan A5, and i'm expecting to do just as well with this one. I agree that some bedding will help as well.

Another thing I discovered that I have to share.

The attention to detail.

A good grip for accuracy has the thumb placed up on the ramp of the stock rather than crossing over, thus imparting less movement when squeezing the trigger.

Not only did JAE think of this in making it uncomfortable to cross your thumb behind is that they put some nice little divots into the stock where your thumb would sit if shooting it properly.

It has kind of become my favorite little thing on the stock

Very, very nice guys

I'm debating as to which stock to go with next to drop my Surgeon 591sa action into. Not every tactical stock out there are drop-in's for it (AICS for example will require some minor milling for the bolt to drop all the way down), but from what I gather (JAE's FAQ's on their 700 stock) is that it would be a drop in.

It's not that modding a stock is a pain/costly as its minor work, its more for possible resale or should I used it for another action down the road.

Gonna have to look into that some more.

I was asked for some pics of the inside of the stock so I took it back apart and got some shots

Very large barrel channel. It will fit the heaviest of barrels with lots of float to spare

Lug spot has lots of room. The screw holes have a bit of forward and back movement so when you are seating the action you slide it back until it is firm with the rear of the lug hole then tighten, that way it it is firm to the recoil lug:

Awesome work around the trigger area:

Got out to the range with it today:

It is a dream to shoot. The grip is awesome, by far the most comfortable and ergonomic I have used so far. I really like the bottom grip.

Recoil pad works great. The weight lol does help too of course.

As for accuracy, it is about the same as the McMillan. I did though pay to have the McMillan bedded so. The jury is still out though as to whether I'll bed it or not. If one were to decide to bed the action it would not be easy. The action screws are imbedded inside the stock so it would make it very difficult to do.

I first took it to the range, fired a few rounds at 100yds to test and chrony some new reloads, then took it out to my 900yd spot. Winds were being a ##### going opposite directions and gusting irratically but I did get a few hits. Including a 9" gong.

She's an absolute beauty Ceriksson!

Interesting (and quite on point) observation you made regarding the bedding & screw locations. Everything is doable of course, but one would need a jig made to drill out the screw holes.

Can you even feel that 260AI @ 20lbs!

Q: How easy was it to clean with a rod from the breech? Wondering if the cheekpiece gets in the way to not (this could guide my decision to go with the removable piece or not)

Great job on the build up.
