I bought a benelli nova 12 guage 3.5 inch. and it jams once the shell is shot.
To get a spent shell out you have to put the butt of the gun on the ground and pull hard on the pump then it'll eject. Any ideas on what the problem is? or how to fix it? I'm now 2 for 2 on buying new guns that have problems.

i don't know what to tell you mine has always functioned flawlessly, bring it back to your point of purchase and demand either an exchange or repair.

What kind of ammo are you using? I just had a guy with an 870 and we were shooting really cheap slugs that were actually only 2.5in long and they jiammed up the same way.

I have a Nova and shoot everything through it with no problems. Taking it back to the dealer is probably the best bet. Don't let it discourage you they are great shotguns.

thanks guys...it is going to go back....as for ammo i was using winchester xpert 3.5 inch bb's.... and i tried the same ammo in 2 3/4 inch
not the top of the line shells....but they do go boom and birds fall.

My nova runs flawlessly... But, my buddies 870 Super Mag doesn't like the 3.5 inch Xpert shells you were using... I watched as his gun jammed on those Xpert shells and then tried them in my Nova with no problems... He switched to another brand and never had any more trouble...

Cheers

I have the same problem time to time with my mossberg. Its because the action is not fully closed.
Take her apart for a full cleanning and see what the action is doing (getting stuck, not closing completely)...
If all else fails take it back and get a new one. Benelli's are super reliable and accurate shotguns (i have a nova pump in 20 gauge).
