Hi again folks. So I've got my Beretta CX4 Storm, fun to shoot. Need to paint the front sight post. Not my main issue right now, however.

I'm using 5 mags: 4 K-Mags, and 1 Pro-Mag, plus a Mec Gear mag on the way. The Pro-Mag is a reliable feeder, as are three out of four of the K-Mags. However, one of them seems as though it's trying to chamber two rounds at once, every third round. Obviously, this is resulting in a FTF as the gun is jammed with two rounds in the chamber. I'm guessing if I keep the mags in storage loaded and keep using them, they'll loosen up? Anything else I can do? Have it exchanged by the original dealer?

Ammo was 9mm UMC 124gr, if it matters.

"...trying to chamber two rounds at once..." Mag lips are open too much. Use fine, long needle nosed pliers to tweak 'em closed a wee bit.
Keeps mags loaded does nothing to them.

Thanks sunray. In my haste to pack up on the last shooting expedition, I accidentally forgot to separate the problematic mag from the good one.

Good to know I can fix this one in the field!

I use a little numbered sticker on the base of each one of my mags so if something happens I can rapidly identify it.

I found that on my CX-4 Storm is that I had to reduce the OAL of my .40cal rds as they were sticking and causing stoppages. Make sure your rounds are moving freely in the mag.

At $49-60 for the avearge mag these days, they are anything but disposable.

Yes they are, magazines are the weakest component of a firearm, meant to be replaced when (not if) they fail, not handed down as a family heirloom. Then again they could be painted red and used for stoppage drills I suppose, but to spend cash or time trying to fix them is a waste of both.

Bren gun mags used to come with a mandrel for fixing them in the field. Painting a faulty mag red is a good idea. The point I am making is that they are so expensive now that many people can't afford to replace them on a regular basis or get the wife to agree to shelling out more money which is the real problem.

I agree with Reaper. $50 or not, they aren't meant to last forever. Unless it's a mag you can exchange like this case, bin it and get another reliable one.
